Wihlborgs is buying the office building Regionhuset, Landsdomaren 6, in Lund for SEK 160 million. The vendor is Region Skåne [a co-ordinating public body for the Skåne region]. The property comprises a total lettable area of 16 000 sq. m. and development rights on about 9 000 sq. m. Possession will take place when Region Skåne vacates the building, i.e. during the second half of 2010.
As previously reported to the press, Region Skåne and Wihlborgs have signed an agreement on a lease in the Dockan quarter of the Western Harbour, on Malmö’s waterfront. This means that Wihlborgs can start the construction of a new office building where Region Skåne will bring together all its operations in an office building of 8 000 sq. m.
The acquisition of Regionhuset will be reported in the Wihlborgs accounts for the 3rd quarter of 2010.
Since the acquisition of the science park Ideon AB in 2006, Wihlborgs has sharply expanded its property stock in Lund which, including this deal, now amounts to a total of 107 000 sq. m.

The agreement above presumes a positive decision from the Skåne Regional Council.
