A year ago (press release 22 August 2008) Wihlborgs and Region Skåne reached an agreement on a lease contract in a new office block at Dockan in Västra Hamnen. The lease agreement will run for 20 years. The region was expected to lease approximately 8,000 m2 of the property’s total of 11,000 m2 and with an option to lease the remaining 3,000 m2.

Region Skåne has decided to use this option and will lease all premises in the new office building. The building is under construction and the estimated date of possession will be in September 2010.

 “Dockan is one of Malmö’s most attractive areas and it is of considerable importance to Wihlborgs that Region Skåne decides to locate its Malmö office with us,” says Anders Jarl, CEO of Wihlborgs Fastigheter.

Dockan is part of Västra hamnen and is centrally located in Malmö near the Central station and the new station for Citytunnel. This is where a new city district is evolving with both housing and offices – a district with hustle and bustle 24 hours a day. 

When this building project is complete, Wihlborgs will have a property stock of 137,000 m2 at Dockan.
