Wihlborgs to build the next office block at Dockan
Wihlborgs and Region Skåne has reached an agreement on a lease contract in a new office block at Dockan in Västra Hamnen. The agreement presumes a positive decision by the regional council.
The proposal means that Wihlborgs can begin the next office block at Dockan. The region is expected to lease approximately 8,000 of the property’s total of 11,000 m2 with room for 450-500 employees. The lease agreement will run for 20 years and the estimated date of possession will be the summer of 2010. The architect is the Oslo-based firm of architects Kari Nissen Brodtkorb AS.
“Dockan is one of Malmö’s most attractive areas and it is of considerable importance to Wihlborgs that Region Skåne decides to locate its Malmö office with us,” says Anders Jarl, CEO of Wihlborgs Fastigheter.
Dockan is part of Västra hamnen and is centrally located in Malmö near the Central station and the new station for Citytunnel. This is where a new city district is evolving with both housing and offices – a district with hustle and bustle 24 hours a day.
When this building project is complete, Wihlborgs will have a property stock of 122,000 m2 at Dockan.
